Narcosis from the first person tells about the survival of a man deep under the thickness of water, where even light does not penetrate. The player will be asked to try on a deep-sea diving suit weighing half a ton. This is a real coffin on legs, but it will also become the only hope for survival at the bottom of the ocean after a man-made disaster.According to the plot, the station where the main character worked is flooded. Because of this, most of the team dies and the protagonist is left alone with his dangerous environment. During his journey, he will find out what exactly happened, and also discuss the pragmatism and guilt of a survivor. However, outside the plot, Narcosis will try to scare and unnerve. The character's oxygen supply is strictly limited, and is also consumed more actively under stress. And due to its deficiency, hallucinations may begin. In addition, deep-sea fauna is by no means harmless. It will want and try to feast on a living person. And to fight it off, a trusty knife and a flare gun will come in handy. The developers are pressing on three big human fears:
- Depth. The underwater world hides many frightening creatures and even more unknown to science. And this is not fiction at all.
- Crowding. The confined space of a spacesuit, outside of which there is death, a serious anxiety-inducer.
- Darkness. The classic fear of the unknown of what awaits in the impenetrable darkness.
Considering the possibility of playing in a VR helmet, the creepy atmosphere envelops you from head to toe. And over time, the narrative goes into surrealism, generating even more creepy pictures. But the gameplay here is traditional for the genre - mostly wandering and looking around.
