Need for Speed Underground – Definitive Edition is essentially an updated version of the classic part of the series, where users first plunged into the real world of street racing. Moreover, here gamers have much more freedom, and now they can customize, improve and decorate cars in any way. The main character comes to a new city for himself to become the king of the streets. And it is here that he learns about the Insiders - a group of street racers who dominate here. And so begins his slow but steady journey to the top.Compared to the original, Need for Speed Underground – Definitive Edition has only one significant difference concerning the visuals. The clarity of the picture has become higher, and now the car models look more natural. However, the skyscrapers that look so massive remain textures in the background, and all the focus is on the cars. Each key character has his own car (and some sometimes even two), and when entering a race with them, you will have to rely not only on technical characteristics, but also on racing skills. For example, on certain tracks it is worth using bypasses or alternative routes, because an attempt to overtake in a straight line will not be successful. There are also elimination races, where after each lap the participant who crossed the finish line last is eliminated. And for lovers of roaring engines and maximum speeds, a drag racing mode is offered, where you need to overtake the enemy at a short distance.
