Nightmare: The Lunatic plunge gamers into an atmospheric Adventure, in which it is necessary to escape from all-consuming nightmares. Gameplay mechanics are in the form of a hardcore platformer with roguelike elements, where the user will move through two-dimensional locations and fight against monsters. Protagonist possesses 3 types of weapons that can be combined during battles with the enemy. You can parry attacks, perform sword strikes, or dodge them with jumps. Weapons can be changed during the battle, selecting the desired type to suit the situation on the battlefield.

Gamers in Knightmar: Ze Lunatic will be completing levels, clearing locations of monsters, and gaining additional experience. Out to pump up your character, enhancing his characteristics with the help of found artifacts "totems", as well as investing the points received in new combat abilities. On his way, the protagonist meets a "dream merchant" who sells useful items and buffs that can be used in difficult trials or skirmishes with bosses. The main challenge for the hero becomes trying to get out of the situation, making his way through a world of dreams.
