The game Oknytt invites the player to get used to the image of a small creature who needs to find his place in the world. The main character emerges from under a pile of tombstone-like stones and finds himself in a medieval Scandinavian world full of wonders and fantastic creatures. The whole action is done in dark tones, which emphasizes the extraordinary atmosphere of mystery and adventure. The game consists of 5 chapters, the events of which take place in various locations, from the outskirts of the village to a dark forest, next to a deep lake, to a wet cave and high mountains. The gameplay in Oknytt is a set of classic puzzles built on the principle of point and click. From the very beginning, the gamer is given access to 4 runes that appear at the bottom of the screen, the activation of which will help the main character to perform any actions. They interact with the environment using the elemental forces of water, wind, fire and earth. On his way, the protagonist will encounter many unusual creatures with whom he will have to conduct a dialogue and interact: with a fairy, a witch, foresters, a gnome, trolls. The main character will exchange various items with them, for example, by giving the forester a hat and food, in return he will receive silver hair, a whetstone and half a hammer. Descriptions of all objects encountered during the game can be found in a small encyclopedia added to the menu.
