The hero of Old Gods Rising acts as an independent consultant hired by one director. The latter is preparing his own film called Rise of the Old Gods. The protagonist of the indie adventure, having agreed to such an interesting offer, finds himself embroiled in a strange story that could cost him his life.Tom Winston is a professor of ancient history. Previously, the guy was the host of the famous television show In Search of Britain. The character was disgraced - he was publicly ridiculed and humiliated for the last book he wrote. The professor's creation was recognized as unreliable and fraudulent. Hiding from the public for a couple of weeks, Tom receives an invitation from a famous director named Maz Keifer to become a consultant for his film. Winston arrives at Ashgate University, where Maz calls him, where the future masterpiece will be filmed. Arriving at the place, the character discovers some oddities, and soon realizes that he himself unwittingly becomes the main star of the future masterpiece of Kaifer.In the process, the gamer explores a large university building, gradually learning the truth about the strange events that occur in the building. It is full of various architectural structures and artifacts that will shed light on the ancient origins of the university. Professor's experience will help to decipher ancient languages, as well as mysterious drawings, solve various puzzles with which the player opens secret areas. The user collects phone numbers, scraps of conversations, which will help to fully assemble the picture of what is happening.
