Penarium tells the story of an unlucky fat man from the countryside named Willie, who finds himself a hostage of a sinister circus institution, the director of which makes a living by arranging bloody shows with live actors for rich sadists willing to pay decent amounts for an indecent spectacle. The protagonist is forcibly held captive, forced to participate in deadly races through arenas set with traps. The player's task, naturally, is to help the guy overcome the dangers and lead him out of the theater of death unharmed.The game is designed in a pixel style and is a hardcore 2D platformer with all your jumps, tricks, equilibrist balancing and a pinch of God's help. The gameplay is good: the levels are varied, the soundtrack and voice acting are excellent, and the control interface is very convenient. Willie's piggy bank moves smoothly, as befits a stuntman worried about his life, and the 2D Coliseum tirelessly updates the arenas, throwing up increasingly difficult challenges for the hero.
