Project AETHER: First Contact takes the user to a high-tech world of the future. The events of the game unfold in outer space, in which a robotic fighter moves - the main character. During the journey, you will encounter all sorts of opponents, represented by robots and ships, for the destruction of which the protagonist has an arsenal of advanced weapons.In Project AETHER: First Contact, the combat system allows you to either shoot at enemies from afar or get up close and personal with melee attacks. As you progress, additional means of defense and attack will be unlocked. Initially, you will only have two guns, a sword, and basic abilities. Laser beams, machine guns, and so on will be unlocked later.To avoid taking damage, the player can perform the following movements:

• Dodge - enemy projectiles fly along clear and noticeable trajectories, so the character will have enough time to simply fly around them from the side.
• Dash - an ability that allows you to fly through enemy bullets, which will help with dense fire.

During the passage, you can improve the hero's suit, adding weapons and skills. A special type of attack is available - an electromagnetic pulse. This skill will cause the most damage, so you can try to save it for the most dangerous opponents. Three modes are available for the game: challenges, survival and boss run. The last of them will provide missions in which there will only be bosses among the opponents.
