Project Overkill is a top-down shooter set in a futuristic world. The campaign is an action game with tactical elements, focusing on strategic planning and quick reactions. Players navigate through challenging levels, fighting various enemies and completing objectives to advance. You will take control of one of four mercenaries, each with unique abilities and weapons. Using an isometric 3D view, providing a full view of the battlefield. Each mercenary acts as a life; if one of them is killed, the user can continue the session with the remaining mercenaries. This mechanic adds a layer of strategy as you will need to manage your team effectively to survive. Gameplay involves navigating levels filled with guards, aliens and robots. You will need to find key cards, activate laser bridges and complete certain objectives. Objectives vary and include tasks such as finding an exit, killing an officer, escorting a defector, retrieving items such as memory chips or achieving a certain percentage of kills. Each mercenary offers their own combat experience. For example, Quogg, a large alien character, can kill standard human troops with one melee attack, while other characters require two hits. A variety of abilities and weapons require gamers to adapt strategies in accordance with the mercenary they use and the problems they face. Navigate through challenging levels filled with various enemies, including guards, aliens, and robots. Find and collect key cards to open doors and advance through levels. Activate laser bridges to create paths and gain access to new areas on levels.
