The main character of Punkgrad is a punk DURAK, with a red mohawk and a beard, possessing a threatening and frightening appearance. Walking through the streets of the city, in one of the alleys he finds a glass with a blue liquid and pieces of ice floating on the surface. Without understanding what it is, he decides to drink all the contents. After taking this substance and losing consciousness, he comes to his senses in a strange world, where he is met by Strange Homeless Man. After saying the introductory word, he spews out a liquid that opens a portal to the other world, inhabited by monsters and beasts that must be destroyed. There is no tutorial or manual describing the mechanics. Finding himself in a small room where the exit leads to a dangerous location, the protagonist, armed with a katana, a pistol and a Micro-PP, begins his dangerous journey into the unknown. The first opponents of Punkgrad look like enlarged, with legs and clumps, revived strains of coronavirus: green, round, with growths that form a crown. They do not have weapons, but simply run into a head-on collision, hoping to lunge in close combat. The locations are linear, limited on the sides by walls, slime, ravines and canyons. The passage consists of moving from the starting point to the finish line and exterminating all life forms that come across. Visually, the levels are depicted in bright colors, with rough forms of the environment, which are not destructible and not interactive. Around the map, there are scattered cartridges and elixirs that restore health. There is a musical accompaniment, represented by rock compositions, adding dynamics and madness to everything that is happening.
