Raven’s Cry is a journey from an errand boy to a famous pirate. Christopher’s parents were looking for a better life, all together they went to new shores. During the journey they were attacked and died at the hands of pirates. The boy lost his hand, but was the only one who managed to survive. Consumed by the loss, he made a promise to himself to find and avenge the death of his relatives. To do this, Raven decides to plunge into the world of robbers. The game moves away from romantic images, trying to show pirates in their true, cruel form.The storyline in Raven’s Cry is revealed in a makeshift way. The main character meets new characters, receives missions and through rather lengthy dialogues learns information about both his goal and the world of piracy in general. The gameplay consists of exploring the world, fighting on land and at sea. The latter are given special attention. Ships fly apart into splinters, masts crunch loudly, decks are engulfed in flames, and it is not so easy to fire accurately from a cannon, and the constant recoil after each shot rolls the gun back. The main character has branches of development that improve command, combat and navigation skills. The plot is non-linear, even secondary quests can affect the end of the story. A special color scheme and musical accompaniment complement the atmosphere.
