Remember Me shows Paris in 2084, where memories have become nothing more than a resource. They are successfully digitized, bought and sold, and sometimes even changed. Social networks have destroyed privacy. People have voluntarily sacrificed this concept on the altar of convenience and capitalism, giving birth to the memory economy. You are offered to play for Nilin - a memory hunter, a former operative of the local government. The girl is trained not only to fight and do parkour, but also to break into the brains of other people. She can steal, add or change memories, thus sometimes rebuilding entire personalities. However, she herself was also invaded and forgot who she is. This is what she will have to find out in the course of the plot. Remember Me gameplay is divided into three main components:
- Exploring locations and platforming. Nilin can climb, scramble and jump from ledge to ledge, like ancient assassins.
- Battles. Mostly, the opponents will be police officers, robots and rare madmen with damaged memory. You will have to fight them hand-to-hand.
- Memory remix. A simple mini-game that occurs several times in the plot. In it, you often need to change small details of the scene to change the character's way of thinking.
Among other things, the combat system includes a mechanic for creating combinations. The heroine has 24 different techniques, divided into families. They can be freely combined into simple chains of movements to increase the power and bonuses from the attack. Some blows restore life, others - quickly accumulate energy for ultimate techniques. In total, you can collect about 50,000 different combinations, but only 4 can be used at a time.
