In Ryan Black, the player, in the role of the eponymous operative, is sent on a top-secret mission deep into the African continent on behalf of the state. Somewhere in a remote village, in the middle of the prairies, a unit has disappeared, which included the protagonist's brother. On the way to the last known location of the military, the transport helicopter is shot down. Miracle-surviving, the main character still gets to the specified point, but finds only creepy mutants who want to kill him.Gameplay-wise, the project is a shooter made in the spirit of the old school with a side view. A character can simultaneously carry three weapons, one of each type and one usable item. The slot for heavy weapons is occupied by rifles or machine guns, for light weapons - pistols or Uzis, and for close combat - a pipe, sickle, etc. The cell of the usable item is often occupied by grenades. Ryan Black is made in a rather gloomy style. Locations for battles, be it slums, military camps, suburbs or caves, are drawn to the smallest detail and imbued with an oppressive gloomy atmosphere of a local apocalypse. Although there are armed people among the opponents, most of the time the gamer will have to fight with inhuman creatures. The abominations are drawn with expertise, therefore they cause genuine disgust.
