SENTRY begins with a relentless pursuit across vast space, painting a harrowing picture of survival as the defense program comes to life. Your mission, awakening from stasis, is clear: protect the fleeing human ships besieged by alien foes. A dynamic campaign unfolds as the strategic question of where to stand against the ruthless alien forces arises. Will you choose to wipe out a small faction to protect a vital subsystem, or bravely overcome overwhelming odds to thwart the advance of a larger, more formidable foe? Alien intruders, relentlessly pursuing your target, target specific subsystems of the ship. SENTRY must use a huge arsenal of ranged weapons to prevent the destruction of energy cores or escape to new areas of the ship. Marksmanship alone is not enough; setting up traps, turrets, and using environmental destruction become important strategies in stopping the alien onslaught. A well-timed blast door closure can be a precious window to create a new defense and turn the tide of battle. Should SENTRY fall in combat, the defense program ensures continuity of combat by bringing another crew member out of stasis to resume combat.
