A distinctive feature of Shannara is at least the fact that this project is based on a science fiction novel. And many things inherent in works of this genre have been transferred to the framework of the game. During the entire passage, more and more questions arise about what is happening, and some things seem completely illogical. The plot tells the story of a guy named Jack, who is saved from a monster attack. A druid named Allanon comes to the rescue, giving the young man an amulet. Next, Jack saves the life of a girl named Shella, and after meeting her, the main part begins. The structure of the gameplay in Shannara corresponds to old-style quests, where all actions are performed using the mouse keys. So, the characters move around the locations, performing various tasks and encountering new characters. The units belong to different races (humans, dwarves, elves, trolls and gnomes) and live in the territory of 6 cities. All of them are marked on the map, with which you can easily navigate the area. As for the quest mechanics themselves, in most cases it is necessary to solve problems using previously found items. After picking them up, they are transferred to the inventory, from where they can be used properly. For example, you can use a knife to pry a panel in the wall and open a cache, where jewelry or something more useful may later appear. An important part of everything that happens will also be dialogues, because it is through them that you can learn more about what is happening in this world, receiving information from different creatures.
