Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2 - Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon is an extensive process based on its predecessor. As you travel through Tsukudo-Cho and the surrounding areas, you can uncover the unfolding case by talking to civilians and searching for clues. Familiar locations like Konno-Ya and Gouma-Den remain unchanged, and as the character ventures into the Dark Realm, encounters with demonic foes are randomized, leading to battles. In the heat of battle, Raidou uses a combination of sword and gun attacks, with the former providing powerful combos and the latter capable of stunning opponents. Defensive strategies include blocking with the sword to reduce damage and performing rolls to dodge incoming attacks. However, the core of the combat system revolves around using demons from Shin Megami Tensei's extensive roster, with each offering different spells and abilities. The capture mechanics from the previous game give way to negotiation, as Raidou can convince or bribe enemy demons to join his cause. By summoning two demons from your list at the same time, the hero strategically uses their various offensive, supportive, and healing spells to turn the tide of battle. Both the protagonist and his demons level up through victories, which come with potential yen or item drops. MAG (Magnetite) plays a crucial role in battle, necessary for casting demon spells.
