Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner - Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army is a departure from the turn-based combat systems used in previous parts, and instead opts for real-time combat. The protagonist, Raidou Kuzunoha, engages in combat with either a melee sword or a ranged pistol, accompanied by the ability to summon demons from a collection to aid him. Encounters take place in compact arenas, allowing for strategic maneuvering during encounters with a variety of demons. These demon encounters occur randomly during exploration of the map, offering a varied experience depending on the protagonist's location. Capturing weakened demons becomes a key aspect of the process, as they can be summoned to fight by Raidou's side in subsequent battles. A fusion system allows demons to be combined, improving their abilities. Loyalty plays a major role in the fusion process, requiring demons to participate in numerous battles alongside Raidou in order to increase their loyalty level. High loyalty unlocks powerful combined attacks with a sword and a pistol. In addition, demons can be combined into the Raido sword, increasing its power as a formidable weapon. In addition to combat, you can freely explore various areas of Tokyo during the Taisho period, including fictional depictions of real historical areas such as Tsukudo-cho.
