Sonar Shock is a survival horror project, the action of which takes place in the gloomy and abandoned corridors of the Soviet submarine S1-Utopia. The gamer will have to become an explorer, striving to uncover the sinister secrets that once overtook the pride of Soviet engineering. The campaign is based on elements of classic role-playing games of the 90s, as well as themes inspired by the works of Lovecraft. These aspects are skillfully combined with dungeon mechanics and supernatural elements. The main emphasis is on survival and exploration. Users need to travel through different decks of S1-Utopia, facing terrible opponents inspired by both Lovecraft myths and Slavic mythology. Monsters like Shoggoths and Mermaids can be encountered here, posing a serious threat that requires careful management of limited resources like ammunition and tools. Each section of the boat hides secret passages, hidden treasures, and fragments of history that enhance the atmosphere of the dark narrative. During the passage, you can meet a variety of characters, including sailors sunk in alcohol-induced oblivion and survivors obsessed with paranoia. Interacting with these NPCs opens up additional quests, ranging from investigating mysterious events on board to discovering hidden weapons caches. Battles are intense and require a balanced approach - you need to find resources while fighting off merciless enemies. Various types of weapons, including harpoon guns and flamethrowers, are available for use, however, due to the shortage of ammunition, the approach to each battle requires careful planning.
