Song of the Deep is a 2D adventure game in the Metroidvania genre with elements of action platforming and small puzzles. The main protagonist is a little girl named Merrin, who wants to save her father, who disappeared at sea. Assembling a submarine, the player goes on a quest and explores this atmospheric world.Song of the Deep tells the story of a 12-year-old fisherman's daughter who loves her dad madly and listens with delight to stories of his adventures and travels about the open spaces of the water element. But at one point, her father does not return home, having disappeared at sea. The main character dreams of a vision of what happened and that she needs to go to save a loved one. Having gathered courage, the young inventor develops a means of transportation for diving into the watery unknown.The player has access to a submarine for moving around the locations. Equipping with various improvements and pumping up, the main task will be to find the right routes and overcome various difficulties that allow you to advance through the plot. The game does not have an aggressive focus and attention is paid specifically to finding solutions to puzzles and tasks of varying difficulty. Enemies can only do mischief and annoy, but are not able to cause serious damage. Some areas can only be visited after upgrading the ship, which forces the player to explore the world more. There is a narrator behind the scenes who keeps you updated on the plot throughout the entire playthrough.
