Space Mercenary Shooter: Episode 2 is the second episode of the project inspired by old shooters. It retains the advantages of the previous part, such as hand-designed levels and full voice acting of characters, and most of the bugs have been cleaned up. The campaign still remains plotless: as before, a faceless saboteur is thrown into the enemy headquarters, which has no significant interior differences, and resembles Episode 1, like a twin. However, upon closer inspection, the details introduced by the developers are revealed in new locations and an expanded selection of weapons, from which it is more fun to shoot a horde of soldiers and turrets. In essence, Space Mercenary Shooter: Episode 2 improved the gameplay mechanics, supplementing it with several new elements that positively affected the final result. The game has become a little more functionally stable, the physics of movement are smooth, and the shooting is accurate. The dummies were equipped with good artificial intelligence; they no longer get stuck in textures and do not shoot through walls. If we leave aside the criticism about the once again neglected plot component, the main drawback is the technical development of some moments. First of all, the remark concerns interaction with objects: such important options as healing and reloading are implemented extremely inconveniently. In the dynamic rhythm set by the gameplay, automatic collection of first aid kits and cartridges is vital.
