Spartan: Total Warrior is a dynamic adventure that offers two main forms of attack: a quick strike at one target and a slower, but large-scale radial, capable of hitting several opponents. Control scheme assigns separate buttons to these attacks: a single attack focuses on quick damage to one enemy, and a radial attack deals moderate damage to several opponents. Notably, attacks can be tailored to use different elements, such as a shield, bow, or the character's magical prowess. As the game progresses, players gain access to a variety of weapons, each with unique advantages. Starting with a basic sword and shield, as well as an elemental bow, gamers eventually unlock more powerful weapons. For example, the Blades of Athena are a faster alternative to the initial single sword, while later upgrades include the Medusa Shield and the Bow of Power. In addition, completely new weapons become available, such as the fearsome warhammer Death's Bite and the Spear of Achilles. Character development is an integral part, with tokens awarded at the end of each level allowing for upgrades to damage, health, and magical abilities. Magic manifests itself as the Power of the Gods, providing the ability to use both single and radial magical attacks when the reservoir is full. Each weapon has a unique magical power associated with its attacks, which brings strategic nuances to the process. As successful attacks accumulate, a rage meter is activated, filling it to capacity allows for powerful rage attacks. These rage-induced maneuvers vary depending on the weapon, offering a choice between individual and radial rage attacks. Completing the arsenal are bows and arrows, capable of firing one or more projectiles and combining both magical powers and rage abilities.
