Species: Artificial Life, Real Evolution gives players the opportunity to feel like a great creator. The toolkit is extensive, there is plenty to choose from. The map where organisms will grow and evolve can be customized in as much detail as possible. How friendly the environment will be to the created creatures depends solely on the player. Thanks to the comprehensive approach, the developers of Species: Artificial Life, Real Evolution included a huge number of variables in the game, each of which calculates in detail the behavior of biological organisms, as well as the influence of the environment on the created creatures. Everything is like in real life. It is possible not only to choose pre-created species, but also to design your own creation and then add it to the game. This guarantees high replayability. After a certain time, each organism has the chance to both survive in the provided environment and end its existence in oblivion. All creatures, subject to the right approach and care, have the opportunity to grow to adulthood and, if there is a partner, have offspring. The cubs will mostly be similar to their parents, but a place of great importance is also given to various mutations. To keep the gamer from getting bored, the game features pre-programmed scenarios. The first is a sandbox in which organisms are not in danger, they grow, develop, and reproduce peacefully. This scenario is perfect for relaxation and meditative playthrough. The second poses a more difficult task for the player - to monitor their own creations and protect them from predators. Predatory organisms will hunt the creatures created by the gamer for their own survival, so do not relax.
