In Spirits of Xanadu, in a distant part of the Universe, on a mysterious planet, a research ship is in standby mode. The Xanadu systems remain active, but the crew left a couple of months ago and have not yet returned. The protagonist of the adventure shooter is a loner who was sent on a mission to activate the starship and bring it back to Earth. The game is made in a sci-fi setting.Outside is an alternative reality of the 1980s. Events unfold on board a research aircraft. The task is to find out what happened to the crew of the spaceship. In the process, the player explores the interactive environment, solves puzzles and conducts shootouts. The user studies the found e-mails, various documents and audio dialogues as he progresses, which he finds in on-board computers, desk drawers. Discovering new information, the gamer makes different decisions, which determine one of the possible endings, as well as the fate of Xanadu, which must be delivered to its home planet at any cost. There is no map, no goals, and the starship itself is half-destroyed. At the start, only a flashlight and recommendations from senior management are available. Gradually, the hero will have to clear his way, killing robots, because the security system of the spaceship has been activated. By choosing Peaceful mode, the user deactivates the security robots, which allows you to fully engage in research, solve logical problems and learn history without shootouts and violence.
