SpyHunter

SpyHunter is a racing simulator with vertical scrolling, where you take on the role of a spy driving an armed sports car. The main goal is to cross the highway, destroying enemy cars and at the same time protecting civilian counterparts. It uses a top-down view, including a two-position gearshift lever, a floor-mounted accelerator pedal, and a steering fork with five buttons. The cabinet enhances the immersion effect with a dashboard that displays key status indicators. Players begin by piloting a fictional G-6155 interceptor, using a steering wheel, pedal, and gearshift to navigate. The vehicle is armed with a machine gun with unlimited ammunition, activated by pressing and holding the corresponding button on the steering wheel. Gameplay becomes more difficult as various enemy vehicles, including a menacing helicopter, attempt to impede progress. A helicopter ominously dropping bombs from above adds an extra layer of difficulty. Scoring will require effectively destroying enemy vehicles or driving them off the road. Scores increase as you drive actively, but destroying non-enemy vehicles will momentarily halt scoring. Gamers risk losing points if their vehicle is driven off the road, highlighting the need for strategic and skillful driving.
