Star Trek: Conquest takes you to a galaxy engulfed in war, where diplomatic niceties have become a thing of the past. The universe is a turbulent battlefield where all major races fight for supremacy. Galactic borders are just guesses, as powerful fleets traverse space, establishing outposts, suppressing local resistance, and engaging in merciless conflicts. The ultimate goal: conquering all homeworlds, leading to galactic domination.Strategic thinking is paramount in the course of Star Trek: Conquest. The step-by-step nature allows you to make important decisions - be it the acquisition of objects or ships, the creation of special weapons or the appointment of admirals. The galaxy is open for exploration and conquest, with fleets able to move between friendly territories or attack rival systems. Combat is immediate, with conflicts having to be resolved on the spot, with dire consequences for defeat. The crux of the game lies in the campaign mode, where players set out to conquer the galaxy by destroying all opponents and capturing their homeworlds. Losing a homeworld means losing the ability to recruit admirals or build special weapons, a dangerous setback in the race for supremacy. For those who prefer a more direct confrontation, Skirmish mode allows battles to be fought independently of the campaign. Victory is dependent on destroying enemy ships, which opens up additional opportunities as the campaign progresses.
