STEINS;GATE 0 is a visual novel based on the Steins;GATE franchise. The story is told from the perspective of Rintaro Okabe - an ordinary student, Suzuhi Amane, who can travel in time, and Maho Hiyajo - a talented neurobiologist. Okabe volunteers to help the rest of the heroes test the artificial intelligence Amadeus. As you progress through the game, you can make many decisions that will affect the narrative. You can either answer calls and messages or ignore them. In total, there are two global plot lines, containing additional branches based on moral choices as you progress. The gameplay is mostly focused on reading text and choosing lines of dialogue. All plot decisions are made using a phone trigger. To connect with other characters, you need to use the RINE messenger. You will also need to communicate with Kurisu's digital projection using the Amadeus app. The events of STEINS;GATE 0 begin with Suzuha traveling to 2010 to see Okabe . He does this in order to prevent the outbreak of World War III. Having warned the protagonist about the danger, you will need to stop Kurisu Makise - Dr. Nakabachi, who wants to kill his own daughter and transfer all her scientific developments to Russia.
