Syphon Filter 2 continues the plot of the first part and tells how the hunt begins for Gabriel Logan and former agency employee Teresa Lipan. The partners proved that the Syphon virus is the work of the Agency. The action has acquired improvements, including additional weapons, a new approach to killing opponents. The story is told from the perspective of two characters, and more heroes and the Mortal Kombat mode are now available in multiplayer.Main game characters:

• Gabriel Logan - one of the Agency operatives, which began to pursue the guy, declaring him a terrorist. Destroyed a nuclear bomb that was supposed to explode in Kazakhstan.

• Elsa Weisinger - a doctor-scientist, involved in the development of Syphon Filter.
• Stephen Archer - a mercenary killer, works for Morgan.
• Yuri Gregorov - an officer, heads the Military Intelligence Service. Communicates with the protagonist, trying to stop the Syphon virus.
• Mara Aramova - a professional killer, contacts the Russian mafia.
• Lawrence Mujari - a professional biochemist.

The protagonist is heading from Kazakhstan after saving the country from a nuclear explosion. Gabe soon receives an alarm from Lian Xing, and upon arriving, discovers that she has been kidnapped by Dillon Morgan. The latter achieves a meeting between the hero and Teresa, but the corporation's fighters shoot down their plane over the Colorado mountains, but the passengers escape by parachute. Logan and bio-chemical defense lieutenant Jason Chance must search the crash site. The C-130 flight contained important information on the Roym case. Logan must search the aircraft, but enemies are hiding nearby.
