System Shock - A legendary immersive sim game in a cyberpunk setting that transports the player to the year 2072 and makes you feel like a consummate hacker to thwart the plans of the evil artificial intelligence SHODAN.

The game's storyline begins when a hacker trying to break into Citadel Station is caught by the TriOptimum Corporation. Edward Diego, the head of the company, offers the hero a deal: help in hacking the warring AI in exchange for freedom. The protagonist has no choice but to accept the terms of the agreement.

The gameplay is a first-person action game. The main action takes place on a space station. To control the character, the Multi-function display is available, through which the player performs the necessary actions. The game contains no NPCs, so the main drivers of the story will be computer terminals. By hacking into them, you can enter cyberspace, where the player travels through a frame of 3D environments. Some doors in the real world only need to be opened by logging into the network.

In our world the hero uses 16 kinds of weapons, but can take only 7 kinds of ammunition to fight with robots, mutants and cyborgs. Throwing weapons provide a choice of ammunition, including a dart gun that allows you to shoot explosive charges or use as a tranquilizer.

Leather Band-Aids and First Aid Kits are used to heal wounds and provide first aid. The patches can act as temporary buffs, but can have side effects such as distorting vision and colors. The effectiveness of the attack can always be checked with the inscription "Normal damage", displayed on the screen. Some enemies are immune to attacks or take damage from certain weapons. For example, EMP (electromagnetic) grenades easily knock out robots and enemy equipment, but gas grenades are useless against them.

System Shock creators Doug Church and Warren Spector have created a unique classic of immersive sims, setting the vector for the entire genre, which spawned a successor in Deus Ex, Thief, and Bioshock.
