2D games are not a genre at all, but a broad concept that encompasses all existing categories of video games. Two-dimensional and isometric games received a second breath in 2010, when there was a real boom among various indie projects. Since then, the relevance of "flat" games does not come to naught, and some projects are able to give up in their popularity and sales of the famous 3D titles.
