Tak 2: The Staff of Dreams begins immediately with the continuation of the previous part, when Tak is trapped in a dream for an extended period. Jibolba and Lock devise a plan to wake him up, realizing that the hero is stuck in the Dream World. On behalf of Juju of Dreams, Tak must confront the Guardian of Dreams, seize the Staff of Dreams, and save the princess. Failure means permanent trapping in a dream. Traveling through the Dream World, he escapes through the Rift and wakes up in the real world. Accompanied by Jibolba, they set off on a journey to find Jibolba's brother, JB. Lock's participation is delayed, as Jibolba orders him to bring his magic sandals, transforming into a Flea for ease of transportation. Having summoned Belly Juju at a dead end, Tak secures the raft with a barrel. Thrown into a river, Locke faces another challenge to save Belly Juju. While wading through a fast-flowing current, they encounter a huge waterfall, causing Tak to lose consciousness. The protagonist awakens in the Dream World, guided by the Dream Juju. Back to the real world through a rift, Tak and Jibolba resume their quest. The action takes place in a variety of environments, including tropical forests, canyons, volcanic zones, snowy tundra, and challenging environments. Space stages in the Dream World add variety. Tak receives help from new animals, expanding the list from the previous part. Activating the Juju magic involves holding down one button and performing a combo.
