In Tak and the Power of Juju, players move through a world filled with platforming tasks and intricate puzzles. Thus, the protagonist relies on such important abilities as jumping and attacking. A distinctive feature is his interaction with various animals to overcome obstacles without hindrance. Creatures such as orangutans are presented, capable of bending trees, creating a catapult effect, moving Tak across vast chasms. Rhinoceroses serve as brute force, which the player directs to destroy obstacles such as walls. Monkeys, when provoked, respond by throwing coconuts at nearby targets. Emus have increased mobility, allowing Tak to cover large distances thanks to their advanced jumping abilities. Sheep, strategically placed on treadmills, activate primitive devices such as doors and elevators, improving the dynamics of puzzle solving. Having acquired the Spirit Rattle, users unlock the Powers of Juju by collecting tokens scattered throughout the environment. Along with this, there is a health indicator, represented by a feather on Tak's head. To replenish health and mana, gamers collect feathers scattered around the environment, while more elusive Juju power tokens expand Tak's capabilities. The story revolves around an ancient prophecy depicting the struggle between Mun Juju, the protector of the Pupanunu people, and the evil Tlaloc.
