In Tetris Effect, the player uses 7 geometric figures to make straight lines on the field. The principle is not much different from the classic Tetris. The figures fall out randomly, the rectangular field has a width of 10 cells and a length of 20 cells. Points are awarded for each combined line. The task is to prevent the geometric figures from touching the upper edge of the playing field. The number of points depends on how many lines are destroyed at once. What are the differences between modern Tetris and the classic one:
- different modes – Travel and Classic, Relaxing and Adventure, Focusing, Marathon and Combo, Secrets.
- prize system – for achievements you can get one of 43 cups, including 1 platinum, 3 gold, 26 bronze;
- virtual reality – there is support for a VR helmet, although the game is two-dimensional;
- settings – you can change the number of visible figures in the queue, the ability to hold one of them to use later, the design of tetromino.
In the Travel mode in Tetris Effect, the user automatically moves to different locations. This can be an ocean, a desert, a night city, outer space. To open the Focusing, Relaxing or Adventure modes, you must first complete the Travel. Events are held weekly. Prizes are given for completing tasks. Experienced players have the opportunity to unlock a secret theme - the design of the classic 1989 Tetris on the Game Boy.
