On his way, the boy will meet many interesting and charismatic characters. Among them is the dark elf Kodiakk or a cute fairy who is forced to supply Voltaire with honey. The gameplay of The Forbidden Arts is conventionally divided into two components: a third-person action game and a side-view platformer. The hero fights many enemies, jumps between platforms, solves puzzles and collects numerous collectibles.

Phoenix fights with a dagger and uses magic. Abilities should be replenished at sources of fire: torches, braziers and bonfires. As you progress through the game, 4 more skills are unlocked: shield, high jump, acceleration and night vision. All magical skills require the cost of fiery energy. You can switch between abilities, since some enemies require an individual approach. Among the opponents are 6 severe bosses, various fairies, dragons and more than 30 types of adversaries. The hero will visit 5 unique worlds with their fauna and history.
