The Place I Called Home makes the heroine remember the past, which she is so carefully trying to bury. Indie adventure has a highly detailed and fully worked out world. Here the player sees beautiful landscapes of fields, forests, glades, and mountain ranges. The user's task is not only to enjoy the beauty of nature, but also to help the ward.Sophia Carter is an ordinary girl who somewhere in her soul feels that she has forgotten something terrible that worries her. The heroine understands that what she tried so hard to forget must be remembered, otherwise there is simply no point in moving on. With an anxious soul, the girl returns to the land of her childhood, where her terrible secret is hidden. Gameplay is a walking simulator, where the character collects the necessary items in the process. The protagonist gradually finds pages of a diary, which describes her childhood problems, experiences, and also listens to voice dialogues, with the help of which she restores forgotten memories. The path leads Sofia to the dark truth from which she ran for so long. Exploring the environment, the user moves along the storyline, collecting diary pages, coins and memories, the number of which is displayed on the screen. The character needs to eat to support the Force, for example, by eating mushrooms along the way. With the help of an axe, the girl overcomes obstacles, for example, chops down trees that have fallen on the path.
