The Raiden Project belongs to the shooter genre and is distinguished by the rich gameplay of a shooter with vertical scrolling. The action takes place in a futuristic world where the Earth is faced with an invasion of alien life forms known as Crystals. The global defense organization Vanquish Crystal Defense creates the Fighting Thunder aircraft, using advanced crystal technology to combat the alien threat. A scenario is presented in which you will need to pilot the Fighting Thunder to protect humanity from destruction. The project includes two parts: the first and second. Users go through eight stages, facing waves of enemies and formidable bosses. The campaign offers to collect bonuses such as bombs and missiles to increase their firepower. Gamers also collect medals that increase their score, adding a competitive advantage to the process. The gameplay supports both single and dual-player modes, allowing for a cooperative session where you can combine your attacks for greater effectiveness. The second part continues the story three years after the first invasion. The Crystals regroup for a second attack on Earth, prompting Vanquish Crystal Defense to upgrade the Fighting Thunder aircraft with new weapons. The sequel also has eight stages, and each has increasing difficulty and new types of enemies. Gameplay remains consistent, with an emphasis on strategic dodging and precise shooting. The two-player mode in Raiden II retains the cooperative elements, encouraging teamwork to defeat the alien forces. You will need to navigate levels filled with enemies, avoid attacks, and defeat powerful bosses at the end of each stage. Collecting power-ups is necessary to maintain an advantage over increasingly difficult opponents.
