The samaritan paradox - a detective adventure in Sweden in the 80s. The protagonist is Ord Salamon, a cryptologist. A student discovers a code in one of the books. The writer who could shed light on the mystery of the tome is dead. The hero contacts the daughter of the deceased. Sarah Bergwall asks the Horde for help in the search for her father's unpublished work, where the key to unraveling the cipher lies. The girl believes that the message serves as a kind of testament, which will lead to a hidden inheritance.
As you progress through the player will find chapters of the book. Each searched section opens a mini-game in the form of a puzzle, where you need to decipher the contents of the pages. There are other puzzles as well, such as crossword puzzle solving, fan control, guard distraction. Many situations for their solution require items that are scattered across locations. All finds are sent to inventory. Individual interior elements can be confusing - they are available for interaction, but useless in the adventure.
The paradox of the Samaritans is permeated by melancholy - gray tones, sad music, Salamon's pensiveness. In such an atmosphere, you need to overcome 60 rooms with various riddles, which are quite easy to solve. For certain actions, often not obvious, achievements are given. Reality is complemented by the world of history from the deciphered book, where the main character is Freya. Playing as a girl, the gamer learns more details that reveal the plot.
