The Walking Dead: The Final Season is the last part of the horror adventure, which centers on the adventures of Clementine and AJ in the world of the zombie apocalypse. An episodic visual novel, the developers of which decided to return to the roots, consists of 4 parts. Here ends the story of a girl who grew up in a zombie world and is trying to survive like other people. The events unfold a couple of years after the part of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, where the heroine herself is already 16-18 years old. The adventure does not specify the exact time period, place of action and does not describe a specific period. In the process, the user makes a choice of dialogue lines that affect the development of the story.The plot consists of 4 episodes such as:

• Tired of running away - after an accident at the train station, the couple ends up in the Ericson boarding school. Previously, this was a school, the pupils of which organized their community after the invasion of creatures. Here the guys get to know the locals and delve into their problems, help get supplies that they had previously found at the station, encounter showdowns inside the school, during which it turns out that several students were given into slavery to the Delta raiders led by Abel in exchange for their non-attack on the building.
• Disadvantaged children - a couple are expelled from school, but they return there again after talking with Lily and Abel, a representative of the Whisperer caste - people trained to live together with zombies without attracting their attention. James saves Abel's wounded AJ, tells him that the raiders are fighting everyone and need cannon fodder. Worried about the kids, the couple goes to the school building, which is preparing for defense.
• Broken Toys - Abel the raider was caught and interrogated, learning that the kidnapped children are hidden on the Stewarts-Fitzgerald ship. Clem decides to save the children by going on reconnaissance, during which he meets one of the missing, who is sure that Delta's actions are correct. The heroine creates a plan for liberation, but for this she plants bombs on the ship, having previously released a crowd of monsters and hidden in it.
• Bring us back - Clem and his friend manage to leave the ship before the explosion. The children successfully return to the orphanage, and the protagonist is bitten by an enemy along the way. Events of the future show that the heroine did not turn, because her sore leg was quickly cut off. The orphanage is protected, Delta is defeated.
