In UFO: Aftermath, the user will take control of the leader of a special unit of the best soldiers. A squad of fighters will fight aliens who have arrived on Earth to enslave humanity. The story began to develop in 2004, when an unidentified aircraft entered the planet's atmosphere. To destroy life on Earth, the enemies used an unusual weapon. They launched spores that killed all complex organisms. Only a tiny fraction of the population managed to survive. All states were united into a common Council of the Earth. In UFO Aftermath, the protagonist and his team have 3 types of enemies. 1 - representatives of the alien race, the Reticulants. 2 - mutants or transgenates. They began to spawn in different parts of the planet after the biosphere was destroyed by alien spores. 3 - unknown biomass. It appears out of nowhere in random cities and destroys the last surviving people. The substance grows exponentially.A year after the invasion, the Council managed to collect a lot of information about the Reticulants. It is known that their embassy has been on Earth for 65 years. Representatives of the race collaborated with the authorities of states and exchanged technologies. The survivors found out that the aliens had never been hostile to humanity, and the invasion was organized by a small group of rebels. The player can influence the ending, making it canonical or alternative. He will decide whether to evacuate the population or continue to fight the biomass.
