Vigil: The Longest Night is an originally designed 2D platformer about the adventures of Leila, a young warrior of light who volunteered to save her homeland from a protracted night that filled every corner with nightmares and crazy monsters. Combining a Lovecraftian atmosphere with the cultural heritage of Taiwan, the game weaves together a bizarre non-linear fantasy story for lovers of dark surrealism and the sophistication of Eastern philosophy.Among the features of Vigil: The Longest Night, its complexity should be emphasized: combat tactics require skill and precision of actions from the player. Enemies are cruel, strong and insidious: in fights, they are able to confuse with sudden changes of attacks. The heroine uses four types of weapons with many varieties of them. The style of gameplay is determined by unique items encountered during the game. Development and pumping of the character's abilities is carried out with the help of a skill tree. The graphics please the eye with a pleasant picture, a variety of locations alternating forests, caves and waterfalls, as well as fierce, ugly bosses that you want to examine in great detail. The visual style of the project is inspired by the Chinese art of paper cutting, and this is certainly the strong point of the platformer. Color is added by the music written by composer Jouni Valjakka from the popular band Whispered.
