Warhammer 40,000: Rites of War offers to fight enemies in 3 modes: a story campaign (with 20 levels), where the player will have to prevent the conquest of the Eldar and repel attacks from the Tyranid hive; single missions, where you need to control one of the presented races; training. The main task of the gamer is to properly organize the army. At the same time, the gameplay implies a limitation of its number, according to the points earned and the number of hexes (cells) for landing. Each fighter occupies one cell on the field, and some warriors will take up much more space. A unit can be a whole squad or one creature. Each mission takes place in the form of a battle on a field divided into hexagons. At the same time, the map forms its own landscape, which will need to be taken into account when developing a battle strategy. The terrain features will affect the speed of movement of units, increasing the time that will need to be spent on the road or even reducing the range of movement. There are buildings on the map where you can beam or resurrect 200s. Some buildings will give experience or useful artifacts. In some cases, units receive damage. Most of the tasks are given only 40 moves, although in "urgent" missions only 16 are provided. As you progress, the units in the player's army will gain experience and become stronger.Warhammer 40,000: Rites of War features 3 races:
- Eldar - the ancient and high-tech inhabitants of the planet.
- Imperium - includes the Guard, Space Marines, and Sisters of Battle.
- Tyranids - a biological weapon tasked with consuming all living things.
