So the Romans prepared a meticulous plan of attack on Egypt, to tear down the city and the pyramids and build temples to worship their great gods in their place. But the Egyptians aren't going to give up so easily. They went to the tombs to plead with their patrons to protect them. So they wanted to test the men's strength and put them to the test. The gods have decided not to personally take part in the battle, but to send a chosen protector among the humans from themselves, endowing them with new abilities. In addition, their strength will depend on how good the city and tombs look.
