X-Blades is a remake of the slasher Oniblade, made in the anime style. The action takes place in an alternative Universe, in which different fantasy races coexist on the planet Earth. Two warring gods - Dark and Light, plunged the world into complete chaos due to constant battles. The second took the powers of the opponent, but together they must maintain balance in the world, so he himself was left without skills. Two valuable relics - the powers of the deities, are hidden in different parts of the planet.The heroine named Ayumi is a treasure hunter and just an attractive girl in minimal clothing-armor. The girl herself is small and fragile, but has great strength and skillfully uses cold weapons, which are much larger than her size, as well as combo attacks. The protagonist has an emo friend - Jay, who often gets into trouble, from where the heroine constantly pulls him out. In the process, the girl finds a trace of ancient relics, visits two temples where they are hidden, fights with the real owners of the artifacts-powers and tries to save a friend from the received abilities of both sides - the Light and Dark gods. There are two endings, depending on Ayumi's choice of the side - light or dark.Fights take place in closed locations, where a guy and a girl enter a room that is locked and filled with enemies in the form of monsters. During the battle, firearms and combat spells are used, and for successful completion, the character receives experience points that are spent on new spells or combo attacks. The game itself, despite the peculiarities of the genre, is really hardcore.
