X-COM: Interceptor - The third installment in the series, released after "Apocalypse". Gameplay combines elements of strategy and tactical control in space. Gamer enters the future in the year 2067. On the home planet of mankind all resources are depleted. Mega-corporations and powerful organizations set their sights on exploring distant stars to keep civilization from collapsing.

Suitable space zone has been found for mining of useful materials "Frontier". Comic planes have successfully reached their destination. The crew met with Mutons, Sectoids and other races. They hint that they have other plans for humans as they try to destroy it. In this installment, events unfold far away from the planet, comparing to its predecessors. Instead of a terrestrial globe, the user uses a star map. Gamer is able to make administrative and strategic decisions of his organization.

Inside the space stations, research is done and modules are built. Each hangar can contain a maximum of 3 planes. Locators, apartment buildings and infirmaries play a role in battles and development. User has access to the defensive structures that defend areas from small alien groups. New technology and improvements are learned on Earth and then delivered to the Frontier. Slow starships that deliver needed knowledge and resources for money can be intercepted by enemies. You can hire an accompanying squad for an additional fee.
