In A Moustache in the House gameplay is based on running away from the enemy and solving puzzles. The puzzles are based mostly on pressing the right switches or correctly applying the found items to the right objects. The character has a magazine, where the tasks are written down. The campaign is divided into several levels. To complete the stages, you need to complete the main objectives of each mission.

In the story, the protagonist finds a hidden video camera in his room when he wakes up. He realizes he is being followed and tries to escape from the house. However, all exits are barricaded. Soon a mustachioed man in an overcoat and a cylinder hat shows up and starts chasing him. The main staff starts exploring the house and finds a secret room, then enters a secret network of tunnels and exits to the catacombs. He must learn an unexpected truth.
