Hunter: The Reckoning – Wayward immerses you in a world teeming with opponents - the undead, cultists and other enemies - one or two hunters must defeat them. Armed with melee and ranged weapons, as well as mystical abilities called edges, the battle involves revealing these abilities to enhance attacks or provide protection. Using Ribs increases a character's Conviction meter, which is replenished by gems from fallen enemies. In addition to standard weapons, special weapons with limited ammo, such as rocket launchers and shotguns, can be purchased. Different classes offer varied gameplay. Familiar faces from previous Hunter games return: the agile Martyr, the melee-focused Avenger, the magic-wielding Judge, and the versatile Defender. New to the fray is the tough Wayward, alongside the fearsome Risen. Initially, access is granted to the Martyr, Avenger, Judge, and Defender. Wayward characters are unlocked through specific achievements and progression milestones, while Risen becomes available after beating the demanding Nightmare difficulty. Characters gain experience by fighting enemies even when not actively selected, albeit at a slower rate.
