Armored Core: Nexus introduces a futuristic world engulfed in corporate conflict. Set 55 years after the Silent Line incident. Tensions between large corporations - Mirage, Crest, Kisaragi and the recently created Navis - reach the boiling point. The Enterprise Management Organization, ostensibly responsible for maintaining order, proves ineffective as corporations prepare for war. The once dominant Global Cortex has been replaced by the Raven Ark, a new organization that controls the Armored Core pilots known as Ravens. Navis, a rising power, attracts Mirage's attention due to its accumulation of ancient technology. Mirage attempts to use the UAE to force Navis to share its technological secrets, leading to Navis breaking away from the UAE and forming a secret alliance with Crest. Escalating tensions culminate in an all-out war marked by Crest's betrayal and the destruction of Navis's primary city. Mirage, relentlessly pursued, forces Navis to use an ancient, uncontrollable weapon. Despite successful intervention, Kisaragi inadvertently activates a separate destructive weapons system, plunging the conflict into further chaos.
