Drop Duchy presents a gameplay model focused on building a territory using the mechanics of falling blocks. The player interacts with these elements to collect the necessary resources from the environment. The materials obtained later allow you to recruit troops and gradually expand your holdings. Each block placed affects the shape of the territory and the path to achieving your goals.Gathering resources is the main activity in Drop Duchy; although forming lines provides certain bonuses, the main goal is to steadily accumulate materials over time. These assets are needed to gradually build up your military force. Maintaining a sufficient army is required to defend your holdings from hostile armies, as significant damage to the central castle structure results in you losing the game. It is necessary to manage the supply flow along with defensive preparations.Gameplay involves choosing routes for your assembled units to advance and recapture regions occupied by opposing forces. Victories allow forces to advance along branched paths, offering choices that affect the campaign to storm the enemy fortress. If the army is defeated before the main objective is captured, the project structure encourages a restart, encouraging experimentation with alternative strategies in subsequent attempts. An extensive deck building system allows you to build up your capabilities through the construction and improvement of structures using over 110 unique cards. These cards provide significant improvements and modifiers for buildings.
