Eschalon: Book 2 takes place several years after the events of the original. The mighty Taurax, apparently, is not going to stop in the lands of Termor, and continues to gather troops. The protagonist, who escaped from his native lands, meets the mysterious Darus, a member of the Cirus Vindica guild, in Midland. They are trying to prevent the invader from taking possession of the magical Crux stones, which grant unlimited power to the owner. Something connects the protagonist with this order, although he does not remember why, and this meeting will begin a new stage of exciting and dangerous adventures.Eschalon: Book 2 is a continuation of the isometric turn-based RPG with a non-linear plot developing in an open world. As before, when creating a game character, you can choose a class (fighter, thief, mage, healer, ranger), as well as set the gender, origin and worldview, which determine the starting characteristics. As you progress, you can develop skills using the experience points you receive - elemental magic, medicine, repair, close and long-range combat, trade, hacking, stealth and others. In addition, there is a provision for pumping up with trainers in cities, who improve selected abilities for money, as well as by reading books. Optional survival elements have appeared, such as the need for food and water. It is necessary to monitor the condition of the equipment, because weapons and armor get damaged over time, their effectiveness decreases, and then they can become completely unusable. Weather conditions now affect the gameplay, for example, a downpour will extinguish a torch, and a storm passing during a battle can enhance certain spells.
