Forest lads - adventure game based on the cartoon of the same name Over the Hedge. The gameplay is a three-dimensional arcade game where you have to take control of four different characters: RJ's raccoon, Vern's turtle, Hammy the squirrel and Stella the skunk. Complete various levels, fighting various rats, rabbits, moles, etc. Also on your way there are powerful bosses and traps.

There is no open world in the game, and the levels are linear locations. Each level includes a set of different mini-games. Most tasks consist of a set of necessary keys or dragging objects from one point to another. All heroes fight using two types of weapons: ranged and melee. Protagonists have an indicator of vitality, which is replenished by the collected items at the location.

Various hats, CDs, etc. are presented as bonuses. The latter can be used to unlock posters and concept art. Between the chapters, the heroes visit a special hideout. Here you can change characters, put on collected hats, see bonuses and play mini-games, including golf cart races or a shooting range that tests your reaction and shooting skills.

Events develop a year after the end of the cartoon, so the story directly continues the storyline of the original. The heroes are trying to steal household items from people in order to equip their clearing. But St. John's wort Dwayne interferes with the protagonists in every possible way. He intends to do whatever he wants so that the forest lads cannot carry out their plan. To do this, he takes control of the minds of beasts.
