The action of Lovecrafts Untold Stories takes place in the universe of the so-called "Cthulhu mythology", created based on the stories of the famous Lovecraft. The gamer will choose between five characters - a private detective, a thief, a professor, a witch and a ghoul. Each of them has their own stories, they need to be followed in the places that a lonely ghost told about. This includes a gloomy Victorian mansion, an abandoned hospital where forbidden experiments were carried out and a jungle inhabited by tribes performing secret rituals. An important role is played by cosmic forces in the form of the Great Old Ones, such as Nyarlathotep, Dagon, Shub-Niggurath, Azathoth and, finally, Cthulhu himself. We are talking about creatures so powerful that a person is not able to comprehend them with his mind, so the main characters must be well prepared to confront them; otherwise, they will go crazy as soon as they see them. However, with the appropriate knowledge, they will be able to delay the inevitable, resisting them at least partially. Events are displayed in an isometric projection. The player travels through exciting, procedurally generated locations, encounters opponents (the list includes both cultists and various monsters), solves interesting puzzles and finds new equipment, improving existing. In addition, during the game, decisions are made that affect not only the further course of the story, but also the mental state of the protagonist. The wrong choice gradually pushes him to madness, which ultimately leads to suicide. However, the game has the ability to improve the intellectual and mental characteristics of the ward.
