In The Cursed Crusade, the player controls the character from a third-person view, actively destroying various enemies with the help of cold weapons, crossbows, bows and even ballistas. According to the plot, the main character of the story is the crusader Denz de Beyle, who takes part in the fourth crusade and goes to the Holy Land. It was not faith that prompted him to become a warrior of the Lord, but the curse of the family, which can only be gotten rid of on the consecrated hills of Jerusalem. The strong point of the Cursed Crusade is the storyline. The game consists of 5 large episodes, each requiring several missions and tasks to be completed. Game events are constantly interrupted by cinematic inserts, and there are really a lot of videos. The gamer will visit a knight's tournament, conquer the walls of besieged Constantinople and visit the dungeons of the mysterious Templar castle. The game's character is quite skilled with swords, axes, maces and other weapons. He uses them to defeat opponents, using spectacular combo attacks and combinations of techniques. You will have to change one weapon for another often, as it regularly breaks. Fortunately, a new saber, hammer or shield can always be picked up from the bodies of dead opponents. In critical situations, the main character can use the cursed gift, which transfers him to another layer of reality, where enemies look like skeletons and move slowly.
